Frequently asked questions
My photo analysis seems off — what can I do?
- Shoot from directly above with good lighting, and keep the whole plate in frame.
- Add a quick voice or text note ("that's grilled chicken, no oil") — your description outranks the photo when they disagree.
- Every item is editable after analysis — tap any food to adjust the portion or macros.
Why did the app ask me a clarifying question?
When a detail would meaningfully change the macros (grilled vs. fried, dressing or none), MacroSnap asks one quick question instead of silently guessing. You can ignore it — your meal is already logged with our best estimate.
How do net carbs work?
Net carbs = total carbs − fiber − sugar alcohols. Your daily cap and "carbs left today" view are based on net carbs, matching standard keto practice.
Voice logging isn't transcribing
- Check Settings → MacroSnap → Microphone is enabled.
- Voice notes need an internet connection (transcription runs server-side).
Barcode or label scan can't find my product
Coverage isn't universal. If a barcode misses, try the nutrition-label scanner — it reads the printed panel directly — or log by photo/voice.
How do I change my goals or diet preset?
Settings → Goals. Presets for Keto, Low-Carb, and High-Protein, or set custom macro percentages.
How do I delete my account and data?
Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, meals, photos, and logs. See our Privacy Policy for details and timelines.
How do I manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. Manage or cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Is MacroSnap medical advice?
No. Macro estimates are AI-generated and may vary. MacroSnap supports — but does not replace — advice from your healthcare provider.
